Background Check question: underage drinking ticket
Recent BB IBD analyst hire here. Long story short, got the offer last month, accepted, sent in my contract etc... Now, about two months ago I got a ticket for underage drinking, which is a civil infraction in the state where I attend college. I pled not guilty but haven't received a court date and probably won't have resolved it in court by the time they are doing my background check. Question is, will the infraction come up on the background check they do and will it screw me?
innocent til proven guilty....you're in the clear.
I had a friend with a similar problem, a Minor in Possession civil violation from his home state. Not only did it come up in his pre-hire background search, but they made a deal about it. He thinks it's possible that they just wanted to see how he would handle a grilling over something embarrassing, cause he ended up getting the internship. But how did you get a hire as an analyst if you're still underage? I assume it's SA?
No, full time for next year. I was underage when I got the ticket but have since turned 21.
My first offense was dropped after I took an alcohol education class. Never came up in BC. Also, you get one reschedule. Wait until a few days before and schedule out for as far as possible. It will not show up until you are guilty, and even then takes a few months i assume.
I was arrested after trying to fight a bouncer and it hasn't been an issue (case was dropped.) Signed and accepted my offer.
i got to third base with my cousin krystal at a family reunion in arkansas 7 years back and though it is not on my criminal record* i did make it a point to write it down on my background check paperwork. i wanted to let them know from the get go that i share their** core values.
*not illegal in arkansas **deutsche bank
Underage drinking citation and background check (Originally Posted: 02/04/2016)
I accepted an offer as a SA for IB at BB. I'm filling out the background check employee forms and there is a question that reads "Other than as disclosed on the Compliance tab of this questionnaire, have you ever been convicted of, or plead guilty or nolo contendere ('no contest') to, a crime (felony, misdemeanor or equivalent) in a domestic or foreign court? You should provide full details below of any criminal history subject to any applicable laws limiting the extent of the information you may be required to disclose. If applicable laws permit you not to provide any such information click on "no." I received an underage drinking citation in November which is a summary offense in my state and will be removed from my record on February 11th. How should I respond to this question? I technically only received a summary offense not a misdemeanor, but I don't want to risk seeming untruthful and it coming back to bite me.
bump
Tell them you were just getting a taste of the models and bottles lifestyle
How did you end up responding to the question? I would select no because its a violation offense not a criminal offense, and the question specifically asks about "crimes (felony, misdemeanor)" in a court, neither of which apply to you.
