Undergrad Asset Management Guidance
Some info about me
I will graduate this semester out of a non target undergrad. I plan on getting into a top 20 grad school to improve my chances of breaking into a large Asset Management firm. (Reach for the stars, BlackRock)
My degree will be a BBA in Finance. I screwed up by not looking for an internship. After I graduate I plan on starting to study for the GMAT. After I finish the GMAT I want study for the L1 of the CFA. I will have a year to a year and 6 months of no school after graduation to take these exams.
During this time period should I get a job as a Financial Advisor? Do some community work? In order to attend one of these schools I will have to move away from my hometown.
Thanks everyone
You should definitively look for a job at least finance/accounting related if you plan to take a year and 6 months to clear both exams. Another solution is to ace the GMAT in March/April (after 4 months of study) and to apply for the last round. If you rather take it slow, I would advise you to take classes online (like coursera) on valuable topics (programming, modeling etc)
