(Undergrad) Philo major? NYU?
Hi there. My chances are pretty high to be able to transfer to NYU for philosophy (my passion). Would I be alright to get into banking despite not going to Stern, if I have a GPA of around 3.8 when I'm finished? Is it important I go for a double major in Philo and Economics?
I'm also considering Amherst College. If I went as a philosophy major to either of these schools, what would be my hopes of getting into IB?
Thank you in advance!
You won't have access to a lot of OCR banking jobs that are restricted to Stern students.
Would a double major in Philo and Econ solve that?
why not mathematics then... it's kinda of philosophical and relevant for major selection... quanty
Amherst
NYU CAS is a completely different ballgame compared to Stern in regards to OCR. It's a lot harder. If you want a chance, you definitely need an Econ degree. NYU CAS is pretty close to a non-target
idk why I got MS'ed for stating the obvious. If OP wants to major in Philosophy and go into IB, Amherst over NYU CAS is a no brainer. It's definitely better regarded than CAS and probably equal to Stern without the distraction of having a business school taking all the recruiting away from the CAS (in this case, Philosophy) majors.
My vote is Amherst (no bias or anything...)
or williams.
