What Clubs Were You Apart Of In College?
I feel like clubs are one of the best ways to make connections. You never know who you'll meet, and who that person ends up knowing. I've found out that it doesn't have to be business related either. For example, I overhead an older student explaining how he joined a cooking club, and it ended up being super beneficial. The student interviewed for a mutual fund, and the interviewer was actually the guy who started the club. Needless to say the interview went very well and he was offered a position.
I'm sure if any of you went to a relatively large school, you had hundreds of different organizations to choose from. So what type of clubs were you apart of? Business or Non-Business?
only club you need concern yourself with is the one down town on saturday.
Greek life
I would pick at least one business and one non-business. Doing something that interests you that is not career-focused allows you to get your mind off classes/professional prospects and shows you have genuine interests outside your field. It is the kind of stuff you will get to talk about during the personal part of interviews. On top of that, a couple business-related clubs allow you to get exposure/network within the field. Go for leadership positions, too. Not only does it look good, but it also helps you grow personally.
In my case, I did econ/finance, consulting, Greek life, conference organization committee and sports. Not all at the same time, but with leadership positions in all.
i'm the head of an organization called my dick
Agree with others above, have a mix of business and non-business. I think the quality over quantity rule applies when joining student organizations. Find two or three that you are really passionate about and take on senior leadership roles, don't be the person who is a 'member' of ten organizations but has no leadership roles.
I find that most people do something related to their major like a student investment fund and then something fun like a club sport. I'm also a huge advocate of developing your technical writing and verbal communication skills via extracurriculars. So joining an organization that allows you to practice public speaking routinely, such as speech club or the debate team, are invaluable.

Never happened to me, and won't if you don't bring attention to it (although it would be a.) almost impossible and b.) too small of an issue for a bank to check in the first place)
Undo your top button and sit back
You're fine. It's a different story if you and a few other people claim to be the president of the same club though.
I claimed to be a member of an organization, and have not been active recently. Will regular involvement in an extra-curricular activity be verified?
I find it highly unlikely any firm will verify dates. The only way they could really do this would be to call up the club's exec committee (other students) and ask about your involvement, which they won't do.
I am the exec committee.
I would make a dummy account for this kind of situation (one that will likely never get caught unless, for some ridiculous reason, someone knows your account on here and sees it). Also, no one will check. Also, even if they did unless you massively lied, they won't care and likely write it off as a mistake.

The ones that interest you and ones that you have passion for are the best clubs/extracurriculars.
I'm in Beta Alpha Psi, it's a professional honor org for accounting/finance students and if you're into trading try to see if your school has a finance club or a stock trading club.
I did crew and an investment club. Highly recommend both, one will keep you in shape, make some friends and get invited to all the parties/events that the hot little sorority girls attend. Investment club was good to have under the belt and network/meet other students.
