URGENT: Diversification question
I'm thinking of diversifying my liquor cabinet away from solely Bombay Sapphire. Possibly even outside of gin. I'm looking for something with a little kick. Suggestions?

I don't know how much you really drink but based on what I read here I would recommend water or some kind of fruit juice.. Alternate between gin & water (or juice)... A much healthier choice ... and you would drink less booze as well.
if you really want a kick.. try expired orange juice.. I hear it packs a wallop ..
Monkey Shoulder blended whiskey from Speyside area in Scotland... good flavor, recently picked up a bottle at Trader Joes for $30.
tanqueray is great. maybe try some craft brews (big fan of left hand nitro milk stout). if you decide to explore that avenue, watch out for hipsters
Rye. There's probably better out there by some metric, but I really like Bulleit Rye.
Bulleit is great, but I also like Wild Turkey Rye. Templeton Rye is the best I've had though.
Beefeater all day.. no pun intended
Take a month off of the spirits. Drink craft beer instead.
Bombay Dry
Also if you're looking for a kick maybe up the consumption to 15+ liters per week
. . . . . . . Not to try at least a few dozen times.
Fair, but it's all about baby steps...you obviously don't want to jump right into a 20-handle when you're only doing 10L, you have ease into it
I would also suggest that you start getting B-Saph bottles shipped directly from the manufacturer in big wooden crates
It's good to see you've abandoned that notion of not drinking.
I'm a whiskey fan.
Tenneyson Absinthe Royale. Chase that green fairy and fuck it in the face.
Bombay Sapphire never did it for me, in the realm of gin I would usually go for Tanqueray (No. TEN preferably), or The Botanist by Bruichladdich (a newly reborn scotch whisky distillery that started making gin to generate intermittent cash flow while their new batches of scotch were maturing!).
In general I would recommend looking into some nice single malts from Scotland or Japan, or maybe some nice bourbons like Woodford Reserve or Pappy. These are much more complex spirits than gin and it isn't as easy to drink copious amounts of them (plus they are more expensive) so this might help decrease consumption levels.

Do you want a kick or do you want quality? I can suggest things that have a kick but taste horrendous and will rot your stomach out. Or I can suggest things that actually taste good and will keep you on your track towards reaching levels alcoholism that few have the ability to match.
Let me know which it is. FYI the delta in monthly alcohol costs will be far greater than 15k.
One word. Fireball.
Are you a scotch kind of guy? Perhaps to branch away from the clear alcohol for a bit?
Was definitely going to perhaps suggest something in that direction as well
Try Yamazaki
^second this. Japanese are in now aren't they?
I would recommend a moonshine specific to the country Romania called țuică pronounced tzouicuh. It's got quite a kick to it and it's really flavorful the only down side is that you actually need to know a romanian who can get you the good home made stuff.
Kummel!

Laphroaig 18. You will be breathing fire in no time. Whiskey is the flying spaghetti monster's greatest creation, and Laphroaig 18 is the anointed son of His Noodleness.
Add a splash of water to make it a bit sweeter.
Also going to mention talisker 'neat', probably my favorite drink.
EDIT: I received some Bunnahabhain 18 over the holidays. Going to try it out soon and let you guys know how it is. Anyone else sample this stuff at any time?
Willet Single Barrel bourbon, game changer
I've heard sake bombs are way more fun drinking alone.. from a friend of course
Are you sure that's not just another way of saying you are not invited...
The friend was me :(
Disclaimer: I prefer clear spirits
Some suggestions:
Gin: Hendrick's Botanical (Infused with cucumber--excellent flavor.)
Vodka: Zyr (Pronounced "zeer", Russian import. Russian distillers know how to make a good vodka. Smooth taste, actually very low in calories by comparison due to high levels of distillation.)
Scotch/Whisky: Suntory Hakushu (Japanese import, excellent flavor, definitely as good as if not better than "true" Scotch whiskies.)
Bourbon: Whistle Pig (Crafted on a tiny farm in Vermont. Highly rated and strong flavor. Also a high proof if I remember correctly. If you can find the "Boss Hog" edition it is rather rare and has an even higher proof due to aging process, also relatively pricey.)
Was going to say Hendricks - definitely my favorite Gin.
For Vodka - I do like Crystal Head quite a bit, and it looks incredible in a bar
Started with scotch (Dalmore 15 is my go to) I've recently started drinking more sipping Tequilas - some of the higher end Don Julio, Herradura and Milagro bottles are great
Agree with you about the sipping tequilas. Patron is extremely overrated. There are much better tequilas out there. The best scotch for the money IMO is Balvenie. Balvenie Doublewood 12 is my favorite both for taste and value. Worst liquor ever? A buddy of mine brought back a bottle of "jin jiu" from China. It's a rice liquor, I think. Would've rather tasted R. Kelly's urine. Worst taste ever. Took one shot, could still taste the aftertaste days later. Thinking about it still makes me nauseous, even after 10 years.
I would recommend some Caribbean Rum....Dominican, Jamaican or St. Martinique.....Bacardi is the Bud Light of that space.
Oban 14 year Lagavulin 16 year Aberlour a'Bunadh Glenfarclas 15 year Glendronach 15 year
All solid scotch whiskies.
Yup.
Bourbon is not real whisky. Rye is a shitty impersonation of whisky.
Glenfiddich any year, the youngest they make is 12 it's like $30ish a 750ml. Straight or rocks, that's a cup full of pure goodness right there.
Tanqueray >>> Bombay Sapphire
Final verdict, Hitch has spoken.
Bourbon - Noah's Mill Rye - Michter's Gin - Hendrick's
Kerosene
Club soda and herbal tea. You can even get it for free at your local Methodist church if you show up on Sunday around 11 AM. If you see a rusty honda in the parking lot, that's me snagging some free food.
In all seriousness, based on your earlier post about moderating your drinking, the key to drinking less isn't to stick more liquor in your liquor cabinet. Stick some evening favorite alternatives in, such as herbal teas, cherry juice, and ice cream, so you can taper your drinking some assuming that is still your goal.
Am I sensing an intervention in the planning for DickFuld?
It was supposed to be a self-intervention IIRC. Also I'm still miffed about the fact that he called me the second biggest troll on WSO in another thread. So I refuse to enable him.
The meanest thing you can do to someone trying to cut their drinking is to assume alcohol when he starts talking about a drink.
I like The Kraken. What's with this clear whiskey trend? You guys like it? I don't think I've tried one that couldn't benefit from aging.
This 1969 Single Scotch Whisekey from Balbair. http://www.balblair.com/collection/157_1969
"On the palate the many layers of taste come through, well into the long finish. Honey sweet with hints of green apples, bananas pears and oranges. The full bodied flavour also offers a hint of smokiness, together with a suggestion of toffee and vanilla."
Balbair 1999 "On the palate honey and vanilla notes combine with a rich spiciness and sweet toffee, resulting in a full bodied Vintage." "... impart a rich spiciness and notes of leather, honey and chocolate."
Jagermeister
Shortcross Gin
"Shortcross is a classical Gin style but with a unique twist, best described as floral meadow, wild berries and grassy notes. It is smooth with an exceptionally long aftertaste and finish. This is achieved through the use of fresh apples, elderberries and wild clover distilled with other botanicals including juniper, coriander, orange peel, lemon peel and cassia. "
Gets you really fucking hammered and harder to detect on your breath than most other alcohol. The breakfast of champions.
Larceny - one of the best bourbons out there
Aqua Di Gio
