This needs to focus a lot more on actual placement statistics. At the end of the day, placement is what matters when it comes to MSfs. This sounds like it was written by a UT staff member
I wanted to talk about the actual student experience. Numbers and stats should be out as soon as the new class begins. I think they usually wait for 3 months after graduation to report full placement stats.
Thus obsession with placements misses the mark. The focus needs to be on places students interview with. A programs responsibility is to provide a great education and career opportunities. It's up to the student to take advantage of what is offered. The nature of the msf means you'll have a lot of 5th year seniors.
I thought the review was comprehensive and helpful. UTA is a great program with solid placements and interviewing firms. Rrally don't get the grief being directed at this student.
Students pay programs to get them jobs. Period. People aren't dishing out tens of thousands of dollars to hear excuses. Programs are expected to provide interviews, prep students for interviews, and to leverage their network.
No one gets a job handed to then. The school provides the opportunity. Anyone thinking any degree is going to get them anything should better spend their money on a placement agency.
UTA students interview at all the top firms. The school has amazing alumni and a history of great placements. This review is positive and in line with what I've hears from every student I've talk with.

Agree to disagree. I think placement information is an important indicator, but prefer to see interview stats. Which is actually the case with UT Austin surprisingly enough. Too many students fail to realize that colleges aren't going to hand hold. They will help, but it is up to the student to prepare diligently, execute when they have interviews and reach out to alumni.
This is all irrelevant in the case of UTA though as the school places well and does a very good job. IMO, UTA and SMU are the two top Texas schools, with SMU being the up and coming program (replacing Tulane which decided to increase to 100-150 international students).
AM and PWM are two completely different outcomes....
