Hmmm. I would forget taking the GMAT again. Maybe look for a cert program where you can show a second GPA (I believe Berkeley has some cert programs online, NYU has them, etc). This would bolster your story about the personal issues and help show the adcoms you can handle the work.

Keep working. Add some EC's. Maybe think about the CFA or something similar to add to your resume. You want to do all you can to impress on them your academic abilities and have them forget about the low GPA.

I was taking a look at UCLA extension courses and I could take an online Business Calc and a Business Stats class in the fall. Would it be worth waiting until round 2 to apply in order to take the classes as opposed to applying early/round 1?

@TNA UCLA Extension offers online sequential series in Investment Banking and M&A, would you say these are viewed in the same/similar light as certificate programs by Adcoms?

Don't know. All I am saying is taking a couple classes isn't the same impact as having a completed certificate with a program GPA. You'd essentially show a separate line item on your resume with UCLA on it, the program and the program GPA. Would take some of the sting out of the lower UG GPA.
