Virtual Stock Competition

I have created a Virtual Stock Competition on www.virtualstockexchange.com I think it would be fun to see WSO members compete against each other in the market and give those people going into S&T this summer a fun competitive and interactive way to help stay in touch with whats going on in the market.

If you are interested go to www.virtualstockexchange.com

the game ID is wallstreetoasis.com

If you have any questions PM me.

Given that this is supposed to be competition amongst a bunch of bankers, how are you going to prevent guys from using material non-public information? It's not like the SEC regulates fantasy stock leagues.

Congrats to Darkmagician383, stevenhu, and DerekForeal for placing 1st 2nd and 3rd respectively in the virtual stock exchange challenge.

Darkmagician made a very large bet on oil through the USO ETF vehicle and they came out way ahead of the rest of the pack with a astounding 59.47% return in 3 months. Impressive.

stevenhu made made a large bet on a chinese gaming company NTCY before earnings and that helped them to a 29.99% return.

DerekForeal was able to find value in GOOG in March when it became cheap. GOOG was catapaulted several weeks ago by very strong Q1 earnings helping them pile up a 26.53% return.

Thanks to all who played. It was a tough environment to play these past 3 months as the S&P only managed to edge out a 1.5% return.

I will likely start another competition beginning around June 1 for the summer. I may use another site for the next competition but have no yet decided.

Hey, Steven here. This was a fun competition and I would enjoy doing another one.

Some good sites that I play around with are updown and marketocracy, but in terms of a site that has a function to set up a private competition, VSE is pretty good. What other sites did you have in mind?

Anyways, don't forget to sign up for the CNBC's one mil.
