Visa Required for Canadian working in Australia? - post

Hi guys - I'm posting on here because of the traffic in this section.
Simple question, for a Canadian to work in Australia, what type of visas do financial services firms typically give out (investment banks, or private equity shops)?
I'm wondering whether they give out something like TN (equivalent in the US) or something along the lines of H1B. It makes a huge difference since I would want a Visa where a spouse could work as well. i.e. If in Europe I get employed as a Canadian, the spouse could work alongside as long as I have a working Visa. US is a big no go and checking if Australia have similar stringent requirements.
I think from quick search on their border website this was what I could come up with. http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/189-

I did have 2 Canadian colleagues at one of my previous jobs who Immigrated over, In professional services (IB/MC) so it's definitely possible; Not sure exactly how they did it though, but I do re-call both had spouses. I'm not sure if the spouses were working as-well.
Canadian working in the US here. I can't address the spousal option from personal experience but I've had friends work in professional services do similar as posted above. They do give TN1 and H1B equivalents but under a different name due to us not having NAFTA to rely on.
This visa allows sponsorship of family members for work, is employer sponsored +temporary, so this is a good start: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/457-#
If you're looking for an understanding of different Aus visas, this is a great help: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Empl/Visa-options-comparison-charts#
Finding the right visa can be overwhelming with all the alphanumeric titles at first but after a few days it gets much easier. Good luck!
will need to do some further digging from here - thanks both for the help!
