I recently had a break up because of exactly this. It was the job or her, easy choice right?
The HBS guys have MAD SWAGGER. They frequently wear their class jackets to boston bars, strutting and acting like they own the joint. They just ooze success, confidence, swagger, basically attributes of alpha males.
I would get rid of him, if he would be a real baller he already would work at a Megafund , where he would work less and earn more. If you would have any value for him, he already would have made the effort to make the switch in order to spend more time with you !!!

"He warned me that he can't text at work and is in the office 16 hours a day, including weekends. Last weekend, we spent a lot of time together because he had some freedom and only worked from 3pm to 8pm and 10pm on Saturday and Sunday"

So if what you're saying is correct you have little to no contact with him during the work week due to his schedule and on Saturday and Sunday you see him for a few hours here and there?

is he really work it? Are you serious about him and vice versa?

... Is there something going on in finance that would be time consuming to an analyst

At first I thought you were trolling this board but the above line made me lol and think that you are serious ...

here's my 2 cents: dont know how old you are but wiser people have told me that things that are minor annoyances initially turn into full blown major issues given enough time. If there is no way around it AND this has been a major issue for you then maybe just do yourself and him a favor and get out before things turn ugly..

I'll come at this from a different angle. how long do your text conversations last? he's definitely lying if you read the letter of what he said "can't text at work" but he could also be saying "I can't engage in long ass convos with you while I'm working 16 hours, but if you want to convey information or make plans that's straight."

he may also have a side chick

FYI you are probably a side chick. A. As in one of many. One of an entire octagon of chicks.

Come on. He's a third year analyst! What a seasoned pro. He has, what, twenty four whole months of waiting by the printer and getting staplers thrown at his head under his belt! The artists on OkCupid go cray for that shit. Did he give you his business card too? You're supposed to pin it to your lapel, you know. It's, like, totally a thing. You're practically going steady with someone on the Barclays Varsity team... wear that shit with pride! You should totally endorse his Data Analysis skills on LinkedIn too -- you should always be supporting your man.

BTW he has time to text. He may be spending 13 hours in the office, but only 4 of them are spent actually working. He probably just doesn't feel like answering your messages of "lol hi" and "so how much do you like me?" But keep at it, because there's nothing more attractive than a girl making an account on a website he probably checks just to ask about his whereabouts and intentions!
