Wall Street Prep Premium Package - Worth It?
Hi everyone,
Like many others on this site, I am looking to break into Investment Banking. I have a business background that is focused in operations/supply chain (I am ~2 years out of undergrad), but I have minimal finance experience. I plan on pursuing an MBA or MS in Finance in the future, but in the meantime, I am looking at financial modeling courses online.
Wall Street Prep's Premium Package (~$425, with WSO discount) caught my eye. Has anyone taken this course? Is it worth the money (i.e., did it help get you a finance/IB analyst role even if you didn't have a finance/accounting background?)
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If you can split it, I actually think it's worth it if you don't have much modeling experience. Macabacus is a fantastic resource but it's so detailed that it's easy to miss the forest for the trees. I found that WSP teaches the mechanical aspects a lot more easily and it's nice to have someone doing it on a video so you can replicate it until you understand/rewind to see it again. I went from knowing essentially nothing about modeling to being able to churn out a three statement model in time and then I learned how to do M&A and lbo models.
Did it directly get me a job? No, but I would absolutely say it was beneficial in being able to hit the ground running.
Engineer. Wall Street Prep Premium Package worth buying to break into BB IB? (Originally Posted: 08/21/2014)
I am currently an engineer with no financial valuation experience. My internships include a blogging internship, a virtual internship (basically to take up space), and a PWM internship.
Would taking this course and putting it under education potentially help me in finding an internship? (actual experience with modeling, show's determination, ability to teach self, etc)
did you every find an answer out to your question would love to know?
Premium Package - Financial and Valuation Modeling from Wall Street Prep? (Originally Posted: 11/12/2012)
Hello all,
I am about to purchase the Premium Package - Financial and Valuation Modeling for $499 from the Wall Street Prep, Is it a good investment or just go with the basic at $199? Anyone purchased it before?
also, how does WSP premium compare to BIWS? if you already have BIWS is it worth purchasing WSP?
If you have WSP Premium Package... (Originally Posted: 12/11/2009)
then message me to sell it. I am interested in buying a hard copy of the material (not a "digital" version that someone just scanned onto their hard drives).
Please let me know if all original content (excel templates, CDs, etc) are included and at what price you are willing to part with.
pardon the bump...

Thinking about getting the premium package to freshen up and fine tune skills not used in a while. A couple of quick questions if someone could provide feedback. Thanks everyone!
How helpful for someone going into an MBA program? Puts you ahead of classmates?
In recruiting, do you actually put the certification on your resume and do employers see the value or already know the value?
Other than IB recruiting, would this help with S&T or investment management recruiting?
