Olin-WUSTL Brand Reputation in the Marketplace
Can any of you actually working provide some feedback on your take on Olin's reputation in the market? I'd be curious to hear from BSBA/MSF/MBA perspectives. Understandably it's strong in St. Louis, but I'm more curious about NYC and Chicago.
Pretty sure they place well in the Midwest region. I know their MBA is highly regarded and reputed. Overall, probably a really solid school with a great Midwest reputation and probably, lesser known in NYC. Just my 2 cents though
WUSTL is a great research university. Olin is actually one of their lesser known schools but still it has a good reputation in the Midwest and the Northeast.
I work with a couple guys from Olin. Both are solid
Not as good as Vanderbilt
Olin's BSBA program is actually very strong and underrated. If you ranked schools solely on placement % and starting salary, it would rank among the top 5 best undergrad business programs in the country. It's MBA is relatively strong, but not considered a powerhouse, and its business SMP's are also relatively strong (as far as SMP's are concerned). Definitely a strong reputation in the Midwest and in NY.

Would you guys consider WashU's MBA program as any good?

It seems like 21% of the class goes into investment banking and 27% into consulting. It has a high acceptance rate compared to other schools in the top 30 (around 60%) so I don't know if that's good or that not a lot of people apply to the school.
banana
Which I-banks hire the 21%? Make sure the firms you want to work for recruit at the school before you enroll...
For MBA programs...
A.G. Edwards and Sons Inc. Citigroup Credit Suisse First Boston Lehman Brothers, Inc.
For BSBA programs add... Goldman Sachs J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Merrill Lynch & Company, Inc.
I wonder why their BSBA program has better investment banks than the MBA program.

Does anyone out there know how good wustl mba or msf is good at placement for trading or ib? Am I looking at chicago mm banks or can I set higher standards?
IIRC they have one of the best MSF degrees in the country, couldn't comment on placement
WUSTL mba is garbage
agree with the above post. I am not sure about their MSF program.
WUSTL MSF class of 2016 placements stats! (Originally Posted: 09/21/2016)
They continue to shine. I will say they are even better than last year!!! 100% placed in the US which is big deal.
The only issue I had with the program is that they accepted more international students than other schools (like 40% last year for the FC track). I see that they've reduced that number to only 19% this year which means placing them will be relatively easy!!! It's going to be a tough choice for me(Vanderbilt vs WUSTL).

i'm just getting sick of your nonsense suck-up comments. if the program has MSF programs, but it would be a moment of disaster and disgrace if either program accepts you in your current shape..
Why all the hate? Just because I called you out?
I haven't looked at his other posts, but to be fair here it looks like the 19% comes straight from the school.
These stats actually look quite poor.
All in all, not blown away.
Or maybe because they didn't want IB?
bam, bam, bam, bingo
