I have a Cartier. It is an excellent everyday watch, very understated. Patek's are the best but are designed for an older crowd. My favorite by far is Franck Muller.

Had a Tag Heuer for 3 or so years now...love the watch. It looks great, sure it has a metal band but what the fuck ever, and i like the reliability and the look of the watch. I also like the older tags vs the new models. The new Tags dont do it for me. But, hey, if you're fonna spend 2 GS on a watch, there are a lot of options

Every young professional male should have a Rolex Submariner as a casual watch.

Patek's are the best, but not suitable for a younger guy. Wait until you are actually successful (and can afford a good one). IWC makes great substitutes for Patek. You can't go wrong with either, but you shouldn't be wearing that kind of watch at the Associate level. Analysts shouldn't even be thinking about them.

Cartier and Jacob & Co. are absolute jokes. Honestly, they are like jewlery, not fine time pieces. Get one of these if you want to look like a moron pop-culture idiot, or if you went to Cornell and just don't know any better.

Tags are, for the most part, a waste of money. Save a bit longer and buy the Rolex or IWC that the Tag is trying to compete with.

IWC Pilot Watch, on a leather strap, and a Rolex Oyster DateJust should be the perfect two watches for work, with the Submariner as your casual watch.

Also, never, ever buy a fake watch.

whats with the cornell hit?

Cornell hit is mostly b/c I've had bad experiences with a few people from there and decided to believe that everyone is just as bad as those bad apples. Obviously not true.

Rolex can be looked at as "overplayed" or as "classic". If everyone in your office wears T&A shirts, are they "overplayed"?

I think the submariner is THE classic casual watch that has transcended many generations.

means nothing if everybody else has the same fucking thing. The best dressers are those who a) value quality shit, and b) have a style that is unique to them.

Individualism is the key to being the best dressed in the room. Especially when it comes to watches. I mean fuck, it's hard enough to differentiate yourself with shirts and suits...but there are SO MANY OPTIONS when it comes to watches.

IMO it's a tragedy to buy a rolex...which is not an expression of your personality...just reiterates that you don't have one.

i love T&A shirts, no i worship at the high church of Turnbull and Asser. Also i no what ur talking about with respect to Cornell. Every cornell dude ive met has a "i am the fucking man" attitude. IMO, much more rich ivy kids at cornell than yale. but the smarterst cornell kid is smarter than the smartest at yale, hands down.

A rolex is for someone who can afford a nice watch but has no appreciation for it and just wants a show off watch.

All Cartiers are not flashy and 15k. I have a roadster. perfect everyday watch, it has an exchangeable band (metal or leather)so I can dress it up or down.

Whoever said Panerai I completely agree with, but it takes a certain person to pull it off.

Still Franck Mueller is the shit....if you do not know that is then do not give your opinion (and you probably own a Rolex)

Patek is the best but as an analyst or even an associate for that matter, better think twice before buying it.

I'm thinking of getting a Breitling, looks nice and it doesn't cost a fortune.
