Wearing expensive stuff to interviews
I know it is always good to be well dressed, but how would they view someone who is wearing obviously expensive gear? I've figured that its bad and will probably leave my best stuff at home. What are your opinions on this -
Use common sense.
I have never understoond people's perspective on under-dressing for interviews. Studies have shown that we as humans are programmed to judge situations within a span of 5-15 seconds (as was needed in "flight or fight" scenarios. With that being said you should absolutely dress the part, as you will immediately gain credibility with your interviewer. I wouldnt be excessively flash but I would ball out and wear my best suit, tie, shoes, etc. I would probably leave the cuff links at home and refrain from wearing anything but a navy suit, white shirt, and conservative tie.
junkbondswap, I definitely agree with what you are saying. The only thing is that I picked up a pair of shoes that are generally worn by associate+ bankers and are easily identifiable. Do you think they will be like "who the f does this kid think he is"?
wear the nice shoes as long as they match the suit. no one will really notice or give a crap. thing like shoes dont stand out but thing like cuff links, ties, weird color suits/shirts do stand out.
No one cares what shoes you're wearing be it on an interview or day to day. As buysideguy said, if you wear a flashy tie or an odd colored suit, it will be noticed. Besides, few people can look at your shoes and be able to deduce how much you paid for them.
as long as it looks good its fine. No one is going to put you down because you have cash going into this job. I wore my best suit, tie, shoes, and watch to my interviews and it only could have helped.
stick to laceups. i can see some loafers being a bit much. other than that, just make sure everything fits.
No one cares unless you look sloppy or flashy. Just grab a plain suit that fits you well and looks nice. Throw on a white shirt with a conservative tie and you're good to go.

I suggest wearing some bling and making sure the interviewers notice it...
Don't forget the grillz. You don't have to invest in a pair, kitchen foil should do the job...
