WEEKEND hours

What's the story on WEEKEND hours in particular? Not just that one weekend when you were staffed on two live deals, but in general whats par? Could you say, skip off for two hours Sunday afternoon for religious services and return for the rest of it?

cheers all.

i should add that responses for London would be very helpful, but I would appreciate hearing about new york, hong kong and the rest as well!

From what I hear, it's usually not an issue to leave for religious reasons on the weekend.

When people refer to working weekends, they typically mean working 5-6 hours per day. Sundays are usually a bit lighter, but as ke18sb says, only if nothing really important is going down.

Weekends do not exist in IB, I work 16 hours a day all week for that sweet green. You think these suspenders I am wearing right now are from KMART? Hell no these are $1500 european imported scarlet bad boys. Every hour that passes when my analysts aren't working is an hour that money could be making its way into my fat ass bank account. No weekends in banking, weekends are for the souless and the week

I have heard that most Saturdays are busy...but you do tend to get most of Sunday off for down time..before the week ahead. Unless you are on a live deal !

Would any one be able to comment...Why analysts do not work from home on Sat/Sunday..if they are given Laptops and are required to build a model. Assuming they have alrady downloaded all the financial reports/data that is needed for the models.
