Went from Big 4 Audit internship to Big 4 Full-time Valuation. Ask me Anything
I know this jump is desirable quite often after suffering through an audit internship. Feel free to ask anything from if you are going through a similar search.

Lol it's not that difficult given that it's an internship... plus Big 4 valuations internships/jobs are dime a dozen anyway.
How can I get into Big 4 Valuation as a current college senior?
OCR. At least my school has OCR for most of the big 4's valuation groups. They hire a lot and arent that hard to get in. TAS (due diligence) is much harder to get into.
What if my school doesn't have OCR for it? It's actually a top 20 school but I guess it's just not a recruiting target for Big 4, maybe because everyone is a liberal arts major.
This is true. The due diligence groups are usually experienced hires who have some sort of extensive accounting specialization or background. I should have been more specific in my post, my group is actually called Transaction Services Valuation so there is some pre-deal worked involved along with audit support and others.
Did you have to interview to make the switch? Also, are you in a major city or a regional area?
Yes I had to reinterview, and the interview was in a major city.
I'm from a non-target state school (not for IB, but all Big 4 recruits here). I got a internship this summer in NYC with a Big 4 in their Audit practice through campus recruiting. Was your internship also in NYC and you networked a lot during the summer? Are you doing IB in a BB or Boutique right now? Thanks.
I was in Detroit area for the internship, then networked into a different big 4 firm for valuation in Chicago area. I am doing Transaction Service Valuation right now. Communicate early on that you are interested in interviewing with the Valuation group after this summer, and as long as you perform well, you should have no problem making the switch.
What happens if you don't meet your expected graduation date after the internship? Are the big 4 firms likely to rescind your offer? or Push your start date back?
