Any boot recommendations (for business-professional wear)?

Looking for any boot recommendations that go well with a nice pair of slacks and sport coat/blazer. Thinking of buying a pair now while there are sales before fall/winter rolls around.

I have a pair of chelsea boots, but I find them too sleek/trendy. I also have the J. Crew version of Alden Indy boots but I find moc-toes to be too casual.

I do like chukkas, but I only find them to look good if your pants have a tight taper.

As you can see I am very picky, but I'm curious to see what kind of boots you all wear in the office.

Shoepassion model is more acceptable especially during fall & winter. It's a classic last model and I highly recommend shoepassion. Great bang for the buck. Just make sure you put rubber on your sole for the winter because the soles will be slippery in winter and would get wrecked with rain. If you are in London do that to protect your ankles from damage due to slipping.

I'd also consider those if I were you. First pair is full brogue and still classic but less casual. The second is a classical clean captoe.

I would not wear a chukka even if it's a dressier one. I have a pair of similar dressier chukka boots but rarely wear it to work. They are acceptable in fall but especially for IB too casual.

Finally, what's your budget? I might be able to help with other shoemakers once I know the range.

Hey, thanks for the replies. Problem with the second pair is that its a derby closure rather than oxford, which is inherently more casual.

Quite tough finding a nice clean captoe oxford/balmoral boot in the market apart from going bespoke/MTO.

As for my budget its about £500, any higher and its better to go bespoke I'm guessing. Viewing this as a long term investment and something that I will be able to use for the next decade or so.

Thanks again for your help.

People wear em everyday. They dont even have to be exotics/expensive; a simple pair of ropers would do, as long as they're clean and polished.

I've always been curious what would happen if I walked in the office in New York with a pair of shit-kickers on. I'm going to have to try it some time.

I do this on Fridays with my beat-to-hell-shit-kickers. Gotten a few weird looks, but fuck em, I'm from Texas. Women seem to love em....

Im guessing boots are more suitable for biz casual than formal? Or do you guys rock boots with a suit too?

Yes. As do lots of people - go for a darker color, and again, make sure theyre nice and clean.
