I know this has been talked about before, but I want to have a new discussion because a lot of the previous ones were a couple years old. Which group would you go into if you had to choose a group at Goldman? I am going to say no TMT right away, because that just doesn't interest me. So, which ones would you guys rank in terms of exit opps, experience, group culture, etc of FIG, Consumer/ Retail, Industrials, and Healthcare? Those groups are my top choices, probably industrials and Consumer more than the other 2, however.

This is a stupid ass
This is a stupid ass question. Pursue what genuinely interests YOU. You will only achieve so much success (you will plateau) if all you do is follow the money. A FO job at GS is an absolutely incredible opportunity and one would be fine with any one of their groups at the analyst level. You've already ruled out TMT for a legitimate reason - apply the same logic to other sectors. Become the best at what you love and all the exit opps in the world will be presented to you on a silver platter.
Just saying...
Well thats the issue, I like
Well thats the issue, I like Industrials and Consumer/ Retail, and maybe FIG just the same. So I can't choose based on that, so I have to go to secondary considerations.

Congrats on the offer. A good time to have a job.
Pick the group with the people you like the best. Especially the ASOs and the VPs.
You'll be much more successful wherever you go if you get along with the people you are spending 100+ hours a week with for 1-2+ years.
Some of the most talented analysts I met hated their groups, got bad rankings, had bad buy side placement, etc. mostly because they simply hated their jobs.
Consumer seems boring as shit
Consumer seems boring as shit to me. Too reliant on the economy for deal flow.
FIG is too specific for me.
