I really like how you get these weird characters that would never put up with each other otherwise having to interact. Makes for interesting situations.
"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
Pretty awesome movie, stumbled on it a few years back because of that scene.
Jack: They’re all former investment bankers who were laid off from that economic crisis that Nancy Pelosi caused. They have zero real world skills, but God they work hard.

i dont get this scene. the boss says claims have been dropping for the past 3 weeks suggesting employment is going up. the trader dismisses that logic, yet is betting that the unemployment numbers is going to be low. how does that work?

Pretty sure they messed that up, because I noticed it too.

He said he had a "theory" but the boss never let him explain. Perhaps he saw some other indicator that could have skewed the number. This must have happened in real life right? claims drop 3 weeks in a row, but employment is well below expectations.

What I mean is the Boss says claims have been down, which means employment up and unemployment down. So why would the boss be expecting a high unemployment number and the trader's "low" unemployment number be controversial?

Great movie, though most people only know it for the "Fuck you" scene. "American History X" was awesome too.
Sorry Monty have to disagree I really enjoyed the movie. Characters come off as very real.

Love that scene....kinda makes all the effort seem almost worth it
