What % of Bankers have MLK day off?
I hear it's an "official" holiday, but how many of you are still working just like normal? Any divisions given the day off or allowed to work from home?

Working like normal as in a full day at the office? Or get in at 10, hour lunch break, out the door by 6?
Year round intern at BB in finance division, was given the day off
On a FIG team at a MM bank...working
PE...working :/
I'm in private banking and we had the day off because markets were closed... but most of the analysts still came in around 2ish and we will leave around 6-7. Just prepping some things for the short week.
But waking up at noon, coming in at 2 and leaving at 6 or 7 still feels like a holiday compared to a normal Monday.
ER, didn't really have to come in today, but did anyways. Have a report going out tonight, and I prefer working at the office to at home.
I wake up at ~6:00am naturally now. I was walking out the door at 7am before I realized it was a holiday.
General rule of thumb is that if the markets are closed you should technically have off, but it also depends on group culture.
Working from home.
Working from home..... When you don't have Saturday and Sunday off, how can you expect to have the holiday.
unemployed
lol
Regional MM, had one conference call from home and that was it. We don't typically need to come into the office if markets are closed.

The bank itself is officially closed since markets are closed, but whether you work or not depends on your workload and group.
worked from 10:30 to now today. holidays don't mean much if there/s work to be turned.
I came in at like ~1:00 and will be here till like 10 pm. I took some calls from home this AM.. Still a normal day
It's racist to work today.
I cold call into investment banks. It was about the same as any other day.
Yes they work most holidays
Only in the U.S.
With my group at least, if it's a market holiday you don't have to come in usually, but you are still expected to be available and work. The irony of working most of the day last Labor Day was not lost on me.
In the office, boutique
West coast IBD: currently at home after eating 30 bucks worth of pancakes this morning. Got an e-mail, but will probably just go in an hour or so early tomorrow instead of doing anything today.
I did a few hours of work from home yesterday, but it's more a function of what deals are on and need attention rather than a function of what public holiday it is.
