What % of time are u actually working?

And by "working" I mean working on tasks you have been assigned by your superior / tasks in your job-description, stuff you are supposed to be diong. Obviously no one is at 100% (bathroom breaks, random chit-chat, banging hot blonde from hr in the handicapped bathroom) but what % of your time at the office do you actually spend "working"?

Then, how many hours outside of office do you work? ie answering emails on phone / calls / working on laptop from home.

Me, i'd say 75-80% while at the office, out of the office maybe 15-30min on average m-f

Depends on your level as well. Associates often burn time waiting for the analyst. It's also important to keep your capacity level in mind. You will usually have some longer-term work that does not need to be turned asap, in which case if you spend 90% of your time working then you may eventually finish everything. Your staffer will then see you have the "capacity" to take on more work. Ideally, I like to always be able to turn to these longer-term tasks at ~50% rate if I have downtime during the day (not so much at night unless I am waiting for the analyst).
