What perfume do you wear?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering what king of perfume people are wearing in IB? During several internships, I can't remember people smelling especially good or wearing perfume.
Is it something which is avoided before a certain level (VP, MD) ?
Dunhill, zegna, hanae mori, hermes (le med), jo malone
hermes (terre d') tokyo (kenzo)
¿drakkar noir, aqua velva?
You mean cologne right? I'm still a student, but I like Lacoste Essential.
Who gives a shit?

Nothing or nothing strong. Wearing any sort of strong fragrance in an office enviroment is saved for people who make millions of dollars or are huge douche bags.
Isn't it in like very etiquette book for interviews and the work place?
To summarize, everyone wears deodorant and showers as often as they are allowed home. Only douchebags and MDs wear scents.
i don't know about for a girl but for a guy you want something subtle.... 1 SPRAY folks of :
These are safe bets, but there are others.
What types of underwear do people in IB wear? If i were to order a sandwich at lunch, would turkey be appropriate? How do bankers view ham as an alternative? What types of soft drinks do people drink? Do MDs allow softdrinks?
It was just a question, if it was so silly, why did you take time to write something?
Another question: Why douchebags like you are looking down on other?
Are diet sodas appropriate for a top BB (think GS/MS/JPM) internship in a coverage group? I prefer to stay in shape but I don't know if people look down on artificial sweeteners. Is drinking the occasional Snapple a huge red flag?
Excellent.
Thanks for bringing this up. Snapple actually is a huge red flag. It signals weakness and a lack of confidence. Once you make MD, it's actually point #17 in the handbook for things to avoid when making hiring decisions.
Whatever you do, do not order a sandwich or soft drink more expensive than what any of your superiors at the vicinity order.
Hahaha Agree with PnL.
Additionally, could you guys rank those perfumes by prestige/exit opps? And should I wear perfume, cologne or spray if I’m interviewing with an elite boutique?
There are a couple of key areas called “pulse points” that a man should while applying Generally speaking, your chest, mainly around the base of your throat, is the best place to apply fragrance.
Some people prefer sticking with one scent, while others like to change things up, depending on the occasion or the season.
Hilarious post.

Speaking if sweateners, I once used two packs of pink Splenda in my coffee while on an informational interview at Starbucks. The analyst picked up three blue packs, she was a girl btw.
Should I have asserted my masculinity by going back for a third blue packet? The informational interview went okay.
