What was the first sporting event you saw live?
I thought about this post for a while now... my younger cousin visited me in Vegas and told me that the boxing match we saw (Ward vs. Kovalev) marked the first time he saw a sporting event with his dad live. It made me think about the first time I saw my first sporting event with my dad...
I remembered my first sporting event was at U.S Cellular Field to see the Chicago White Sox take on the Kansas City Royals. The park looked extra special that day because of Opening Day. The game went back and forth until the bottom of the 5th. Good ol' Paul Konerko whacked a 3-run homer to put the game out of reach.
The Sox won 12-5. My sister also ended up on the Jumbotron for a sign that said "my first Sox game". I've been a Sox fan ever since.
Anyone else with a similar experience? Looking forward to hear your stories monkeys.

My first event was attending an Arsenal match 6 years ago. Flew out to London for it with my dad. They won 4-0 and it is my yearly quality time trip nowadays with my dad. Sports events definitely make for the best family quality time in my opinion!
That's awesome. Was the atmosphere what you expected?
To be honest better. Rival fans always call the Emirates stadium a library (quiet, bad atmosphere apparently) but in my opinion it is an awesome stadium with great fans. Arsenal also tends to play the most beautiful football in England so that usually makes for great games for the fans. I remember that despite our central defender was the one to score 2 goals lol.

My first event was the A's vs Angels, Oakland Coliseum, somewhere 1990ish. I was pretty young, but I definitely remember being there.
Growing up with McGwire and Canseco, Rickey Henderson on the bases and Eckersley on the mound - it was an awesome time to be an A's fan. There's nothing better to take your kids to than a baseball game. From batting practice, to seeing the fresh cut grass in the outfield, the players chattering in the dugout, and remembering the excitement you feel as a kid watching the whole stadium undulate the first time you get to participate in "the wave." Everything I remember about going to pro baseball games as a kid makes me get all nostalgic. That's my happy place, I guess.
You saw the Bash Bros... Nice. Do you still go to A's games?
It sucks with what's going on with the whole stadium situation. Doesn't help that Beane traded all those great players too.
