which one?

hi everyone, for the past one year i have been following wallstreetoasis and it helped me land my previous internship. once again i need some help in figuring out which one do i go for.

under my college program i am to choose between one of these for my internship. 1) goldman-sachs opns vs 2)JP Chase GLOBAL VALUE SANCTIONS MANAGEMENT vs 3)strategy and management in a fast growing tech startup vs 4)IB work at a boutique IB?

Final year. yeah IB. majors in engineering and economics. I plan on applying for an analyst's position in major banks. just wanted to know how the HR guys in these banks would perceive it. would they like to see someone coming from well accepted firm doing not so challenging work or someone from a little known firm but with a little more wisdom. the duration of internship is 6 months so it is kinda long.

Given you want to work in IBD:

1) Ops @ GS- Pretty much a dead end for you. Will be very tough to get into IB from here.

2) Global Value Sanctions Mgmt @ JPM- Not sure what this is. Sounds like a MO/BO role though so if it is, stay away.

3) Strategy @ a tech startup- Depends on the startup, as well as the work you'll be doing. If its prominent with VC backing it might be worth a look, but in your case it would be pretty useless. Unless you're a frosh/soph don't do it.

4) IB @ boutique IB- This seems like the most relevant experience and if you can confirm the intern experience is legit with modeling then this would be your best choice.

thanks for replying. My preference is 4>3>1>2. the start up received some $200 million in funding 3 years back and there is a lot to learn if i opt for the boutique bank. i plan on getting into a business school in about a year or two. So that is what is bothering me. How would the admissions committee look at it? big name vs real work :(...As for my future plans it is either IBD or Strategy consulting.
