Who else is studying for Series 7?
Anybody else in the process of studying? My exam date is Jan 15th and currently studying chapter 12 (municipal securities). I have been making a study guide as I go through each chapter, I can post it if anybody's interested. Having trouble staying focused right now though and I really don't want to procrastinate too much.

Bang it out and get it over with. I used STC, read through the chapters and did all practice tests. Pretty simple and straight forward
Thanks, MM firm I am at uses STC as well. Been using the by topic practice tests to study mainly, then going to start taking the Q&A and then the real timed practice tests. Was jw if anybody else is in the process of studying.
which package did you use? Im on the site now, there are so many different packages.. Im not sure which to choose, do you just suggest the basic one that comes with the practice exams? how many exams does it come with? are you talking about the one the comes with the CD-ROM? please help! thank you!
Honestly, its been years since I took it. My firm gave me a book plus login information for the practice tests (maybe 12, not sure)
post please
this is what i have so far
Do the practice questions. Don't bother reading each chapter. If your firm will pay for it, do the 4 day STC class. Then schedule the test for the following Monday. It is not hard, and you definitely don't need two months.
is the class you're talking about online?
Studying for Series 7 is a real thing? My incarcerated business partner's retarded gay niece passed the 7.
I guess the notes I have taken so far are probably way too extensive then. I just don't want any chance of not passing because it's a career breaker.
I'm going to look into the class. Realized I was retaining little from the manual so stopped reading it at chap 12 and just started doing practice questions and taking notes on them. The options section will be easy for me and it makes up 25% so that's good.
I squeaked by with a 74%. So glad I got it over with and passed before reaching my 4 month mark at the firm. All I did to study was a lot of the Q&A exams with STC then took notes in a word doc on anything I didn't know. Went through the by topics up through the bonds section. Here's the study guide I made. There's nothing on options in the guide, and nothing in there on margin requirements. (There was a decent amount of margin requirement questions on the exam). Its absolutely pointless to read the manual IMO, just a lot of practice questions and taking notes on the one's you don't understand should be sufficient. Study guide I made is attached above. Nothing on options because I knew enough about them to not have to waste time studying about it
I am studying for Series 7 and I am using Kaplan as a study guide. I tried reading the book but there is too much information to retain. I plan on giving the exam in 5 weeks. Please help!
5 weeks is definitely enough for Series 7. I recommend using the Kaplan Qbank after you go through the book.
Just passed the Series 7 test with 87% last week. I studied the Kaplan materials for three weeks (part time) and did about 2,000 practice exam questions in the Qbank. I have to say, the practice exam was quite helpful. I only get around 60% to 70% for each chapter but it helped me to memorize the knowledge.
Hope your studying is progressing well, This is a great time to be getting into what I believe to be the most exciting business. I work with clients constantly for the Series 7 and train people for the Series 3, Series 6, Series 11, Series 24, Series 30, Series 34, Series 55, Series 56, Series 62, Series 63, Series 65, Series 66, Series 79, Series 99 and more. So I know the area. I would suggest you create a specific study schedule for the Series 7 and consider enrolling in a class, getting help from a friend or hiring a professional tutor that specializes in Finra exams. Obviously I do and would be glad to help. Just look me up....D
All the best.... happy studying.
