Long wait = Ding?
Had an interview with a regional MM M&A group at the beginning of the week. I was told that I'd hear by the end of the week. I believe I was one of the first people (out of only a few) interviewed and thought I did really well. Does a long wait like this normally result in a ding? Or have people had other experiences that suggest I still have a chance?
Try to move on and find more opportunities for yourself.
Longshot, I'm familiar with the experience you describe. There are a lot of exceptions, so good luck on your situation, but in my experience long wait = ding.
Hello, you just answered my question about product/industry groups on a different thread, and I asked another one there I hope you will answer.
no?
No, a wait of less than a week definitely doesn´t mean a ding. If things got busy or people weren´t around to get together to discuss your candidacy, then the promised timeline they gave you may not hold true. That said, never stop looking until you have an offer in hand.

In most cases, yes. I had a very good interview too but was told someone else got hired after two weeks of waiting.

why isn't HR responding to me? Am I dinged? (Originally Posted: 02/12/2013)
Hi everyone,
I had an interview for Risk Management at BB last Wednesday, and received positive feedback from interviewers, waiting to hear the results back. However, while checking online submitted application, I found that my submission did not go through, so I emailed HR to take a look at my application and see what went wrong. She replied on that day saying she would look into it. So I waited 3 days, but since she wouldn't reply, I emailed her again to make sure she is checking up on this, but she still won't reply back. Do you guys think it's because I am dinged? so she doesn't waste her time? or do you think it is because she is busy?
Thank you for answering this semi-stupid question
