Will old boss know if I use his Capital IQ account?
I interned for a hedge fund last summer and I still have the login info for my boss's Cap IQ account. I know Cap IQ is really anal about multiple people using the same account, so I plan to log in early in the morning when there's no chance he'd be logged in as well. As long as I don't log in at the same time he is, will it raise any red flags with either Cap IQ or my boss (aside from the "last login" time that, as I recall, is in tiny font and nobody reads)?
I had the same thing happen with my old internship's Reuters software. It's exactly what it seems like: they could notice that someone is using it and might get logged out due to the multiple sign-on restrictions. For them to find out it were you, they'd have to call up the company and see if they have a location via IP.
But for all that work, they'd just change the password.
What if you were to use the CapIQ plug-in for Excel? Do they have a way of tracking if multiple accounts are logged in there?
im sure the excel plugin logs the use of that username since you have to put in the login info
If multiple users are signed in simultaneously, the email address tied to the account gets a notice from CapIQ forcing them to change their password. It is incredibly annoying, but not the end of the world. If you log on during a really off hour, you should be safe.
Awesome, thanks.
right now on my platform you can see "recently viewed" companies, profiles, documents, and screens. i never use that part of the platform but sometimes does glance it if im looking for something i know i looked up recently and too lazy to search again. if youre using the excel should be okay
