With Rick Santorum coming in so tight with Romney... does this solidify a Romney nomination?

Santorum hasn't had his surge until now, and we have seen what has happened to everyone and the surges...lasts a week or two and done.

Is it safe to say, Romney will be the next Republican Nominee?

I don't see the appeal Santorum have to voters in NH. So yes.

Romney=Obama Lite + War with Iran

You pretty much nailed it.

I don't see how anyone who has taken an intro to economics class doesn't see Paul as having a viable platform and realistic message.

in it 2 win it

Once again, Paultards failed to show up for the caucus because they were too busy smoking pot.

You likely only favor Romney because he's an HBS alum. How absurdly pathetic are you? Here, let me reply for you:

"But, if I go to HBS, girls will like me and I can go skiing once a year."

On another note...what kind of galactic asshole supports Rick Santorum? Let's have a look at his key stats:

--Voted for Medicare Part D --Spent like a drunken sailor during his two terms in the Senate --Lost in 2006 by one of the largest margins ever for a senate incumbant --As recently as February 2011, he was defending the Crusades...that's right, the Crusades. Is he running for Pope or President? http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/02/rick-santorum-the-crusades-g… --Is extraordinarily hawkish, to the point that I honestly fail to see how it's helpful. If he's so obsessed with taking care of Israel, maybe he should move there --He wants creationism taught in school and believes evolution to be false (world wasn't created in 7 days, folks) --Is obsessed with preventing gay marriage to a point that is simply unreasonable. Enough already. --When his wife gave birth to a stillborn baby, they took it home, had a party, and slept with the dead baby. This is not made up.

What on Earth does this man provide that is of any value whatsoever? He isn't a conservative, he's a very religious person parading around as a Republican.

I support Romney because of his intellect, business experience, executive competence, and electability.

What does this have to do with HBS? You sound like a fucking idiot.

We should all thank the Santorums for inspiring a multitude of dead baby jokes.

Q: What’s more fun than a slumber party with your own dead baby? (note: your answer must conclude with some form of "Based on a true story")

TheKing:
...--When his wife gave birth to a stillborn baby, they took it home, had a party, and slept with the dead baby. This is not made up...

This is patently false.

King, I realize you hate people who are religious and don't wish to adhere to their moral standards but that doesn't give you the right to defame them...and if you can't stop yourself from doing so, you should try to lie in a manner that is subtle enough as to not be blatantly obvious?

With that said, we do appreciate your continued contribution to the site. Without your asinine and hate filled posts, we would never know what a bigot you truly are.

Regards

I am a Paul supporter. Both with my vote and wallet, however right now I am being realistic. I will vote for Paul again, but I wouldn't double down in Vegas on Paul pulling off a nominee win.

Right now, i am just hoping to God that the Santorum surge is a short burst and will fall back to Earth ASAP. We are so screwed if Santorum wins - I would vote for Obama over Santorum (to keep my Christie dream alive for 2016). Romney ALL DAY, EVERY DAY over Santorum. You all should be hoping for the same.

As was mentioned in another thread, it's interesting how Santorum practically came from absolutely nowhere in a matter of a week when his views have been consistently the same throughout the entire campaign.

An Insider Advantage Poll from 12/18 shows Santorum coming in at 3% ISU/Gazette/KCRG from 12/8 5% Ramussen from 12/13 6%

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/ia/iowa_republic…

And today he comes in at 25% now? Are we looking at poor polling or a sudden, sharp evangelical shift/turnout for Santorum?

i don't get Santorum's support at all, at least Perry is a three term governor and Newt was speaker. Santorum's big political achievement was losing reelection to the Senate by 18 fucking points.

Honestly this victory just shows how much power gay hating groups still have in the GOP.

Disappointing that Paul didn't win tonight, even more disappointing that he lost to that fucking clown Santorum

Romney just won the nomination. All santorum cares about is hating gays and saving unborn kids. This election's about the economy and Newt/Ron were Romney's only real competition.

Paul's only shot was winning Iowa and carrying that win forward. Newt needed to at least come third in Iowa - man failed. Romney wins NH, carries that into SC, and that will be that.

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

The amount of absolute joke/Manchurian candidates this cycle has been absolutely ridiculous:

Herman Cain Bachmann Gingrich Santorum Rick Perry

What a sad statement for this country that these individuals were all at some point serious contenders for the Presidency. It'd be more depressing if it wasn't so surreal and absurd. Looks like Romney will now get the nomination which almost guarantees that Obama will win reelection. Good luck America, you're gonna need it.

Uh, no. It's true. Not making anything up dude.

Your argument is complete nonsense. By your standards, virtually anything is acceptable as long as its done under the guise of religious beliefs. If he sold his youngest daughter into slavery or stoned his children for disobeying, would that be ok? He would just be following his religious beliefs.

Please...we aren't talking about going to Church on Sundays or waiting until marriage to have sex, we're talking about some out there bizarre shit. If he werent religious and did what he did, it wouldn't be given the pass that it is.

And enough with the "you hate religious people" argument. I don't hate them or their "morals," I hate types like Rick Santorum who seek to impose their so-called morals on the rest of us. In Santorum, we have a man who wants for states to ban contraception and even fucking sodomy. How can you be serious and defend this nonsense?
