Women's Briefcase - who's got one, and where did you get it?
I normally try to get one of the guys to carry books to meetings which generally works except our group head is a female, so obviously I can't get her to carry them. I got desperate the other day, and ended up carrying things in a file folder because I don't have a briefcase. She made a comment about how if I got hit by a car things would be really bad because the MNPI would go flying everywhere. Fair point - thanks for your concern about my safety. Moving on.
So, my query to the women out there, where did you get your briefcase? I haven't found any I love. And apparently I am badly in need of one.
Don't be a briefcase wanker.
Are you serious - a briefcase? As much as we like to reminisce about American Psycho, this isn't the 1980s.
Where's your handbag? A good leather is pretty sturdy and can carry 10 books quite easily. For the Analysts, try Mulberry, canvas/nylon Prada or Longchamp (don't outdo the MD), Ferragamo. When you hit VP, you can get the Hermes out (unless only the Partner has Hermes, in which case, watch until MD).
Although saying that, I saw a Consumer MD carrying a very swish black leather Prada bag which was quite rectangular / boxy - a nice cross between a briefcase and fashion. Really gorgeous - I've been on the outlook for it but haven't found anything.
Colours: Black, NOT brown, dark red, neutrals - beige, white, cream if you can stand dirt and getting them cleaned. Nothing bright.
Just a suggestion:

While I don't have an "exclusively for women" business case, I carry this Briggs & Riley brief ( http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/productDetail.aspx?id=Move-Busines… ) to work and I think it's absolutely stunning. It's got three sections. One of them is for files & binders, one for a computer, and one to organize the smaller items like pens, flash stick, business cards, etc.
Purse, laptop bag or briefcase for ladies? (Originally Posted: 09/21/2010)
So I am preparing for this interview and wonder what to bring to as a "bag"? I need to carry stuff like umbrella, money, resume, shoes.
Suitcase or one of those large shoulder bags (provided it is not an extreme color like bright orange). When you start working, you can carry what ever you want, but for interviews I would look as professional as possible.
