WTF is up with my Excel?

WTH is up with my Excel? I've been working on a euro model, and anytime I type a number into a cell it defaults to Euro? Its used to be that if I wanted it to be currency, I had to format it as such.

And I can't get it to use the proper European decimal systems... ie. 4.123,0 instead of 4,123.0. When I go to custom format it just fucks it up.

I'm using Excel 2007.

it could be your pc's regional settings.

start -> control panel -> language (or regional language-- I don't remember which... I'm on my Mac right now) and make sure it's set up correctly. I think that affects what excel defaults to

That wouldnt automatically change all numbers to a Euro. Are you working on a new sheet. Clear the formatting for all cells you plan on typing numbers into. It sounds to me like someone universally formatted your cells to currency / euro. Also, make sure you don't have any backround macros running ( alt + f11) and look for modules on any open or hidden worksheets.
