Your NYU Summer Housing Status

I applied almost immediately after aps went up, didn't get a single or palladium. Got 2nd choice, University Hall.

I didn't request a single for any of my choices (I did have a roommate request though).

Do you think your single request prevented you from getting palladium?

I ask this because one of my friends applied the day before me, which was the 2nd day the apps were available I think, and he called the NYU admin office to ask about dorm choices. They confidently told him that as long as he wasn't requesting a single, then he should get his first choice (which was palladium) due to it only being the 2nd day the apps were available.

He's suppose to give me a call tomorrow and tell me where he ended up though. Also, we are both non-NYU students.

I applied first day for double at Palladium. Did not get that but got Carlyle. At least I am in Union Square which makes me happy. Anyone know anything about Carlyle?

nobody gets palladium except for nyu students as they get top choice and its the best/most popular dorm

uhall/coral/carlyle are right there and equally as good IMO although i dont exactly know as i didnt go to nyu but did live in coral for a summer

Anyone know anything about water street, I submitted on the 7th.

You may have problems getting Water Street as investment banks typically reserve huge blocks of that dorm's rooms for their interns.

Cliff Street may or may not be the same. Last year, Lehman Brothers and JPMorgan SAs lived there.

Still waiting on my email with my id number, but it's looking like I didn't land in Union Square (despite applying on the third day the apps were open).

Therefore, I'm curious how good/bad the following choices are since I'll probably end up in one of them: Greenwich Hotel, University Court, and Third North? Any feedback would be great.

lol, unfortunately the way it feels. I applied for my nyu id on the first day and filled out the app as soon as my nyu id was created. Sucks i still potentially wont get the dorm i wanted. Im still upbeat about the whole situation, i dont care if I have to set up a shantytown in the middle of central park.

not to sound spolied, but are you able to switch dorms once you are assigned?

I still haven't applied. Am I pretty much out of luck?

edit: Just checked the wait list. I am out of luck.

sure walter i will swap my non air conditioned room in crack village with you. This trade you see has you downside for me.

Also, on the note that Lehman might have Cliff St - Lehman blocked off Third North this year for its SAs.

wtf why doesn't GS block off rooms for SAs?
