ZS Associates or Analyst at Tech Startup?
Hi all,
First post, feedback very much appreciated!
Really torn between two great full-time options right now - a business analyst at ZS, or a client service analyst role at Medallia (a customer feedback/research SaaS startup). I have a very strong interest in the tech industry and am aiming to be in a product manager type role in a few years.
I know that ZS will give me good exposure to sales/marketing analytic techniques, though I'm worried that those skills will be too pharma-specific. I'm not certain how those skills might transfer or help me when I eventually try to jump into tech.
On the other hand, I think working at Medallia would give me a good foot in the door into tech where I might meet others in the industry should I decide to move companies. The role itself is focused on customer reporting and some modeling, though I expect it's not anywhere as focused and developed as ZS's models.
Offers and benefits are on par with both, I will get some nonsignificant amount of equity at Medallia. Not sure if I'll go for my MBA immediately, though both will sponsor.
ZS to me seems to be the "safer" route, since even if I can't get into tech, people there seem to have no problem jumping to pharma clients. Interested in hearing your thoughts, thanks!
