Hiring Info: Analyst Position
At The McLean Group, analyst serve two primary functions: 1) support Managing Directors on prospective and/or current M&A engagements, and 2) undertake industry research in support of the firm’s industry practice areas.
Analyst Responsibilities:
• Research and create “pitchbooks” for prospective clients seeking sell-side or buy-side representations, including the aggregation of relevant industry information and competitive analyses;
• Research and prepare Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), Company Profiles and other marketing collateral materials;
• Research, pre-screen and create lists of prospective buyers/investors for investment banking transactions based on established valuation models and client requirements;
• Conduct valuation modeling in support of transactions;
• Support due diligence and closing processes;
• Maintaining and update contacts databases continuously in support of transactions, and
• Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze financial statements, create financial models, and a solid understanding of accounting
• 2 -3 years experience as an investment banking M&A analyst required
• A strong work ethic, including the ability to work independently, take the initiative and follow-up on issues and questions
• The ability and the desire to learn new processes and approaches while working in an informally-structured yet fast-paced business environment
• Expert personal computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Capital IQ, & Thomson Banker
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Education Required:
• College Degree (BA/BS)
• GPA of 3.5 or better
• Preferred Majors: finance, economics, accounting or similar
