Corporate Development leads mergers and acquisitions activities, which are an integral component of the Company’s growth strategy. The company has recently completed a number of successful transactions and has the resources and intention to pursue several more. They are constantly evaluating new opportunities covering the broad spectrum of communications services. Corporate Development is primarily responsible for these efforts, including the identification, evaluation, structuring, negotiation and closing of transactions.
Essential Duties
The Manager will play a critical role on deal teams working on a variety of projects across all stages of the transaction process. They will work closely with team members within Corporate Development and various business units to create financial models and analyses to evaluate complex problems. Based on this analysis, the Manager will help develop solid recommendations for senior management and communicate these through effective oral and written presentations. As projects move forward, the Manager will take on significant responsibility during the due diligence process, as well as the preparation of proposals. The role will also coordinate with team members and external financial and legal advisors to support the negotiation of definitive agreements and closing of transactions.
The Manager will face significant challenges and develop invaluable skills and experience. The role will need to work hard and take the initiative to understand business and processes and further develop analytical skills and business judgment. The Manager will be expected to quickly and effectively analyze issues and communicate solutions in a dynamic and high-pressure environment. Through this work, the Manager will learn how to manage the mergers and acquisitions process within a company and build a working knowledge of an exciting industry.
Education and Experience
• 4+years investment banking, private equity or corporate development experience
• Solid undergraduate academic record
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
• Demonstrated valuation and financial modeling abilities
• Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
• Strong communication skills
• Technology and telecommunications experience (preferred)
