Job Description
The candidate will work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including: mergers and acquisitions (sell-side and buy-side), private placements of debt and equity, refinancing and leveraged buyouts. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with senior level bankers and gain direct live deal exposure and interactions with clients.
Responsibilities include supporting new business development and current client engagements, including:

• Valuing companies and businesses
• Assisting in the marketing and planning of engagements
• Building relationships and maintaining direct contact with clients and prospective clients as well as professional advisors

The ideal candidate should be motivated, creative, outgoing and possess strong skills in financial analysis. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory, keen analytical capabilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Specific sector experience is preferred, but not required. One-to-two years of prior investment banking experience executing M&A transactions is required, and an MBA is preferred, but not required. Course work in accounting and finance is highly recommended. No Class of 2012 graduates, please.
The environment at this firm is both collegial and entrepreneurial. Teamwork is essential to the firm’s success - at the same time, creativity and new ideas are encouraged. Associates are given substantial responsibility and are encouraged to help grow the business.
