Heavy Duty Filtration - Business Development Manager- Energy Segment (Oil & Gas and Mining Industries)
Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager – Energy Segment (Oil & Gas and Mining Industries) will report to the Director of Heavy Duty Marketing and will have the following responsibilities:
• Lead the effort to build this new market for the company through individual sales efforts, leveraging Energy and Mining industry relationships including calling on key new customer targets
• Build and maintain relationships with Energy and Mining Equipment OEMs, Distributors and End-Users
• Develop a cohesive strategy for this market to deliver on agreed upon annual unit and profitability targets
• Execute specific sales growth initiatives with primary focus on sales to new and existing customers
• Initiate and participate in on-site sales calls/visits to new and existing customers
• Communicate and work closely with field sales and sales leadership to identify new opportunities, coordinate implementations, and conduct post-analysis of promotional programs and product offerings
• Build knowledge base to understand new market/customer dynamics, product requirements, and business protocol
• Lead the effort to analyze current filter product line offering and pricing in this market segment and with the aid of the product team develop the strategy to ensure best in class application coverage and a competitive and profitable pricing structure
• Identify new products and work with engineering and supply base in the rollout process of new products.
• Conduct on-going analysis of competitors’ pricing actions, sales volumes, and trends, consumer promotions, advertising activities and tracking studies. Responsible for business case analysis to determine market opportunities
• Identify opportunities related to changes in the industry, including engineering advances within OE/OES customers. Pursue all channels (i.e., End-User, OEM, Engineering Firm, etc.) related to a specific market or markets
• Conduct competitive market assessment and trends, Voice-of-the-Customer research, customer/consumer segmentation and strategic/SWOT analysis
• Work with Marketing Services to develop revenue-enhancing promotions, collateral materials and communications to support product lines
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with critical internal departments, including the supply base, supply chain, manufacturing, R&D and trade marketing
• Help coordinate industry-specific events and tradeshow activities
• Attend and represent company at pertinent trade organization meetings;
Be a recognized leader in the target market internal and external
• Research and monitor the market in an effort to forecast future filtration trends
• Be a proactive and energetic member of the Team and continuously seek out new opportunities to help the team achieve its critical business objectives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in marketing or business administration is a minimum requirement
• 5-8 years sales and marketing experience within an Energy or Mining related equipment manufacturing or distribution organization is required
• Filtration and/or replacement parts knowledge is desired
• Relationships with key industry organizations or players a plus
• Excellent business-to-business marketing skills
• Superior quantitative skills
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Solid skills in MS Excel, Word, PPT, Internet
