Our client is a multi-billion dollar credit fund which invests in all parts of corporate capital structures-- including bank loans, high yield bonds, mezzanine debt and equity for both public and private issuers. The team implements strategies across many markets and products (equities, convertible bonds, volatility, credit, bank loans, and derivatives).

They are looking to hire an Analyst, who will be working with Senior Credit Analysts on the analysis of companies in a number of industries, performing due diligence, modeling and presenting recommendations; monitoring companies and assessing absolute and relative value based on risk vs. return in a range of different portfolio strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing the issuers in a broad range of industries, via financial modeling, accounting review, assessment of management’s competence, assessment of third-party research, and communication with management and sell-side analysts, among others.

• Supporting Senior Credit Analysts to assess the relative value of investment opportunities by analysis of capital structures, bond covenants, market drivers of bond and equity performance and the value of available alternatives.

• Working actively and support Senior Credit Analysts in recommending investments across a range of portfolios and defending those recommendations both in writing and orally.

• Performing ongoing due diligence and monitoring of portfolio positions.

Experience/ Must-Have Skills:

1) Prior work experience as a junior credit analyst (Must have at least one full year at a sell-side bank or hedge fund).

2) Must have a credit research background-- buy side or sell side.

3) Strong accounting, finance and modeling skills (e.g. should be able to build buy out models).

4) Sector experience-- Should have knowledge of at least one sector thoroughly or multiple sectors generally.

5) Maturity and confidence.
