We are a private and public equity investment management firm with over $3.0 billion in assets under management. We invest in rapidly growing private companies that that possess distinct, defendable competitive advantages within the insurance, financial services and healthcare services industries. Our Private Equity Group predominantly invests in companies with enterprise values ranging from $20 million to $200 million. Our typical equity investment is between $10 million and $40 million and we are usually the lead investor of the companies in which we invest.
Summer 2013 Start Date. We are seeking a pre-MBA Associate with 1-3 years of investment banking experience who will work with the firm for 2-3 years prior to returning to business school. Prior exposure to financial services, insurance or healthcare services is strongly preferred. We seek individuals who are mature self-starters that are capable of working both independently and on small deal teams. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial statements, complex financial modeling, a prior track record of success both professionally and academically, be self-confident, able to write effectively, and be comfortable communicating with senior executives on a daily basis.
The primary duty of the Associate will be: Deal Sourcing - Perform research and develop market analyses to identify attractive industry sub-sectors and specific companies that could be attractive investment opportunities within the insurance, financial services and healthcare services industries. - Cold call the CEOs of prospect companies as well as related investment bankers and consultants to develop relationships and cultivate potential investment opportunities.
The secondary duties of the Associate will be: Due Diligence - Assist with the qualitative and quantitative review of investment memorandums and private placement offerings. Provide due diligence support to the group's five Partners and two Principals by performing analyses of target markets, corporate strategy, competitive landscape, capital structures, legal and tax structures, and regulatory matters as well as through the development of financial models and sensitivity analyses. Assist with the writing of investment memorandums in support of investment decisions. Candidates who are interested in pursuing this opportunity should submit a resume and cover letter.
