Pre- MBA Associate- Tech VC Fund

My client is a leading Silicon Valley based venture fund focused on early and growth stage investments in technology-enabled services businesses. The firm was an early investor in Salesforce.com (CRM), HireRight (HIRE), and SuccessFactors (in registration) – and has an active portfolio of 15 companies. The firm recently raised its second fund and currently has $325 million under management.

They are seeking an Associate to join its investment team. The Associate will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s due diligence efforts, identifying investment opportunities, and monitoring and assisting the firm's portfolio companies. This is a tremendous opportunity to gain exposure to the venture business alongside a group of highly accomplished investors and entrepreneurs.

The ideal candidate will have the skills required to thrive in a small but fast-moving team environment, including:

• 2-5 years of experience with a top-tier investment bank, corporate development group, , venture capital fund, and/or private equity fund
• Exceptional analytical abilities
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven project management capabilities
• Demonstrated understanding of technology and technology-related industries
• Passion for entrepreneurship

A record of achievement at a top-tier undergraduate program is required. Recent MBA graduates will also be considered.

This is not a partner track position. They are seeking an individual for a 2 year commitment. Prior to leaving the firm, the fund will assist the Associate in transitioning to a portfolio operating company, to business school, or to any other position he or she desires.

Compensation is competitive and consists of a base salary, bonus, and health benefits.
