Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager—SEC Reporting, the Principal will be responsible for organizing and drafting external financial reports issued to the SEC and ensure that the disclosures are in compliance with all rules and regulations (e.g. SEC, GAAP, etc.). The candidate would be responsible for:
• Conceptualizing, organizing and drafting all SEC documents that the company may issue. This includes financial statement footnotes, disclosure checklists, MD&A, cash flow statements, EPS computations, etc.,
• Collaborating with other functional groups and obtaining the necessary information to draft the appropriate descriptions and wording in SEC documents.
• Coordinating and collaborating the Company’s external audit firm KPMG in all areas of external financial reporting and accounting issues during quarter and yearend periods and assisting in the resolution of issues to the audit firm’s satisfaction.
• When necessary, collaborating with third party consulting firms such as valuation firms in reviewing and responding to their needs as required.
• Obtaining the necessary information from the technical accounting department’s staff on recent transactions or issues to ensure that such activity is properly reflected in the financial statements.
• Collaborating with the equity accounting team as needed.
• Being familiar with research tools and continuously updating of knowledge of SEC reporting and technical accounting matters.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 6 years experience, with a minimum of 2-3 in public accounting and 3+ in industry.
- Direct experience with SEC reporting requirements, SOX compliance, and researching SEC reporting and technical accounting issues for high tech organization.
- Experience working collaboratively with Legal departments, Accounting and Finance groups, Treasury Departments, and Tax Departments.
- Leadership experience a plus.
- Experience with an organization with complex products and businesses a plus.
Qualifications
Education:
The candidate shall have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a college or University that is accredited by the AACSB. An active Certified Public Accounting designation is required.
Experience:
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 6 years of progressively more responsible experience with accounting; auditing or external financial reporting with a heavy emphasis on SEC reporting of all types and significant portion of that experience shall be in a public company or audit firm. The successful candidate will have experience in working with Big 4 auditing firms and their personnel, collaborating and documenting SEC reporting or accounting matters for review by management,
- Experience in a global company with history of effecting mergers & acquisitions and other complex transactions, a plus,
- The ability to use Microsoft Office products is a must.
- Knowledge of working with complex multi-national ERP accounting systems/software industry experience is a decided plus.
