Job description
We are seeking a Senior Analyst with 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, commercial lending or a corporate finance program.
We seek self-starters who are capable of working independently, on small deal teams, and with various levels of portfolio company management. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a detail-orientation and work with a sense of urgency. The successful candidate will be expert in financial statement analysis, company and market research and assessment, complex financial modeling, effective writing, presentation and communication, project management, and will have a prior track record of demonstrated success, professionally, academically and personally. In addition to a finance background, interest and talent in operations is a must as the firm is extremely hands-on with portfolio company management to add value in multiple aspects of the business.

Responsibilities of the associate include the following:
Deal Sourcing - Communicate with investment bankers, consultants, commercial bankers and other market constituents to develop and strengthen relationships and source investment opportunities. Perform research and develop market analyses to identify attractive industry sub-sectors and specific companies that could be attractive investment opportunities within the manufacturing sector.
Investment Opportunity Assessment - Assist with the qualitative and quantitative review of investment memorandums, private placement offerings and other data. Provide investment decision support to two partners through the development of financial models and analyses, and by performing analyses of target markets and companies, corporate strategy, competitive landscape, regulatory matters, etc. Assist with the writing of investment memorandums in support of investment recommendations.
Transaction Due Diligence and Execution – Assist in devising a due diligence strategy and information requests. Review and analyze financial statements, business plans, legal and other documents. Assist in the performance of thorough research with external sources -- including customers, suppliers, industry experts, trade organizations, market research firms, and others. Perform comprehensive company valuations. Assist in transaction negotiations and sourcing and securing of financing.
Portfolio Company Monitoring- Actively support and monitor portfolio companies by helping to set strategic direction, goals and objectives, work with management on various operational initiatives, monitoring key performance indicators, performing due diligence on bolt-on acquisitions/joint-ventures. Serve as a day-to-day contact to portfolio company management and represent the firm at portfolio company board meetings.
