Real Estate Acquisitions Intern
Login to Start Application
Our real estate practice is expanding from just distressed real estate deals with our bankruptcy / restructuring advisory clients who are commercial banks with real estate loan portfolios, to real estate private equity in the Tri-State area (Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York). One main focus will be income properties, not just investment properties, and our real estate private equity practice is responsible for the sourcing, screening, due diligence, valuation, acquisition, (re)development, asset management, and disposition.
There is a significant development aspect to all of our commercial real estate assets. In order to unlock or to create value, our real estate private equity practice will do significant development / renovations of each commercial property in order to reposition the asset for higher quality tenants and/or higher rents. We already have a solid team of architects, interior designers, contractors, etc. with experience in the Tri-State area. So the applicant ideally also has either a strong interest or actual experience in commercial real estate development.
Thus our real estate private equity practice is currently seeking candidates with commercial real estate acquisitions experience, preferably in the Connecticut, New Jersey, and/or New York markets. More than half your time would focus on income properties in New York. We already have capital sources for these deals.
This position is not entry level or for career switchers. Please do not apply unless you have actual fulltime experience in commercial real estate acquisitions in any real estate market. Applicants must have prior fulltime (not parttime / internship) work experience in real estate acquisitions, including real estate private equity or distressed investing (debt or asset). Alternatively, commercial real estate experience in the gaming / lodging / hospitality / real estate group of an investment bank or law firm is also acceptable experience.
This internship could quickly lead to a fulltime opportunity within months, and could extend beyond real estate acquisitions depending upon your experience and skills. Start date is immediate.
Recent grads and alums are welcome to apply. But you must be available for personal interviews in New York City.
NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Email resume, cover letter, unofficial transcript (if student)
