Our professional staff is trained and experienced in serving churches, ministries, pastors, and seminarians. We are proud to introduce them to you here.

Dr. Philip Douglass, Ph.D.

Dr. Philip Douglass, Ph.D.
Dr. Philip Douglass, Ph.D.  is the founder of Douglass & Associates and our primary consultant.  Dr. Douglass has over 30 years of experience in church ministry and a wide range of training and education.

Dr. Douglass is Associate Professor of Practical Theology at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.  Before coming to Covenant in 1986, he served as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) for 14 years, planting three PCA churches during that time.  Since moving to St. Louis, he has planted two additional churches and served as an Interim Pastor for revitalization of another church.  He has served as Chairman of the PCA's Committee on Mission to North America (MNA), and continues to serve MNA nationally and regionally in an advisory capacity.

Beyond his prolific church planting, Phil Douglass is also a great encourager and mentor to others.  As a professor of Practical Theology at Covenant, he has counseled and consulted with literally thousands of students preparing for ministry, thus having influenced a significant portion of the PCA's pastors.  Additionally, he is one of the "go-to guys" for answers to today's difficult questions facing pastors and church leaders.  He is among the few genuine experts in ministry and church matters from all sides of the equation.

Phil has specific expertise in church planting, intra-church communication, discernment of pastoral calling, and troubleshooting difficult issues, and is unusually gifted for dealing with these concerns.  Skill, experience, training, and giftedness combine for a potent readiness to consult in these areas.

Phil received his Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Lee University, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Education from St. Louis University.  He has also received certified training with the Myers-Briggs Temperament Inventory (MBTI©).  He is married to Rebecca, and they have four grown children.
