The Private Equity Institute provides in-class and web-based instruction for students interested in entering into or advancing within the field of private equity. The class is limited to ten students in-class and five students participating via our live audio and video feeds. Each class is taught by at least two professionals who work at private equity firms, not teachers who lack deal experience. Professionals associated with the Institute work or have worked at such well known Wall Street firms as Lehman Brothers, UBS, Smith Barney, Deutsche Bank and DLJ. We will also bring guests from top Private Equity shops to give you a day in the life tour of what it takes to make it in the private equity world.
Courses are given on the weekends at a private club in Midtown Manhattan. The course is taught in four broad sections:
o Private Equity Overview
o PPM's and Term Sheets
o Valuation
o Leveraged Buy-Outs
We have two different programs to help graduate's get into the private equity industry. Our Internship program is associated with (and partially subsidized) by a group of small and medium sized private equity firms. Certain qualified students will be eligible for an internship with one of the companies after completion of the training program. Internships are seasonal and generally awarded based upon geography, graduate's skills and test scores. Our professionals program is designed to provide this same collection of firms with access to graduates who can serve as executives or Board members for their portfolio companies.
