Just as an idea -- would it sometime be possible to let people who are certified (or just have a branch of experience) in one way shape or form be able to designat that as such? For example, one can say most of the PE guys obviously have IB experience before hand, but what about the people from IB who go to ER or into private banking etc... could we get some sort of badging system for experiences maybe?! and obviously have 'green' as your base color for youre in school for something and 1-2 years exp 3-5 5+ in certain fields...

As a way to say thank you to our Certified Users, I wanted to announce a new benefit for those that meet some minimum standards.

If you are a Certified User, have 10 or more Silver Bananas and a SB:Monkey Shit ratio of at least 2:1, we'd like to offer a free 3 month access to our job board, a $40 value. Just e-mail Ivy your certified username and she will make sure you get access.

If you are not a Certified User yet, but meet our criteria (no exceptions), please apply by sending an email from your work account to [email protected] with your username.

Thanks,
Patrick

Calling all Moderators and Potential Certified Users

Hey Guys,

As the community grows it has been harder for me to keep up moderating the boards to make sure the threads end up in the proper forum category. (many new or selfish users drop their thread in the IBD forum instead of Get a Job, for example). So this posts has 2 requests.

1. More Moderators to help me manage this problem...you would be allowed to move and/or delete threads but you have to show you are mature enough to handle it. To apply, just send me a private message.

2. More Certified Users. It has been awhile since I asked for the applications for Certified Users so I thought I'd see if there are any out there that want to get Certified. It helps keep clear who already has experience and who is speculating when giving advice. Also, to encourage users to get certified for the time being we will be offering free copies of any of our guides to all of our Certified Users. It's an easy way for us to say thank you for all of the help you guys have been over the years. If you are a Certified User, just e-mail me at [email protected] if you want any/all of the guides for free.

WallStreetOasis.com Certified Users

REMINDER:WallStreetOasis.com will now be tagging certain users with Certified Status. A Certified Member will have a star next to his/her username every time they post a comment so that users new to the site will know that the comment is being made from a reputable source.

The criteria to gain Certified User status is as follows:

  1. The user has proven he/she works in the specified field in their profile through e-mail verification to [email protected]. Please send your username AND password.
  2. The user has demonstrated superior knowledge in that specified field and given helpful advice to other users
  3. The user has displayed maturity, patience and a willingness to help other prospective monkeys with limited or no experience
  4. The user continues to display maturity and does not get into meaningless debates on school or company rankings (certification can be revoked)

Note: Under rare circumstances, users that demonstrate superior knowledge and a desire to help can gain Certified User status very quickly, while other members will have to improve their reputation with the site administrators & moderators to become certified.

If you believe you deserve to be certified and have not been yet, you can always e-mail [email protected] to make your case or just have us review your account.
