Cumulative or Concentration GPA?

Rounding GPA question

I know this topic has a lot of threads on it but I haven't seen my specific situation. My GPA is a 3.754. Do I round that to a 3.8 or keep it as a 3.75? Also my major GPA is a 3.867. Is it that much higher than my cumm. to be worth including? Should I list cumulative: 3.8 major: 3.9 or just cumulative at 3.75?

Hello,

I am an Electrical Engineering student looking to get a job in Finance or do a master in finance. My current CGPA is 3.63/4.

Do you think I should add my Math GPA? It consists of 11 courses where I got straight As (4.0/4.0).

Thanks

Low GPA, semi-target, need some help here

Hey guys,

I am currently a junior in a semi-target for MBB (Bain for sure but not quite for BCG). After my sophomore, I ended up with a 2.8 GPA (3.3 for major) in civil engineering. At that time I have taken two intro econ and two advanced stat classes (with 1A+,1A, 1 B+, 1B) and it turned out that I love them more than my engineering classes. So I decided to change my major. Well, I just started my junior year full of econ and stat classes, but I could not change my major until the semester ends. On Friday I will be going to a consulting forum (networking event, not recruiting) in my school and Bain & McKinsey are scheduled to appear. I will be bringing resumes, so should I list my GPA on there?

My overall GPA is 3.3, with my major gpa being negligibly higher. My resume reads "Major in Finance with Minor in Asian Studies"

I have put "Finance GPA: 3.66" above overall GPA, and this is an accurate calculation of my GPA for all of the finance courses I've taken (those starting with FIN on my transcript).

It is not my "Major GPA" - I dicked around freshman and sophmore year and didn't do great in the prereqs for the finance courses.

I just want to show that I did significantly better in my finance courses, which I did.

Is this acceptable or would you consider it a misrepresentation?

I transferred my freshman year from a non-target school with a 3.8 to another non-target school and graduated in May of 2011. My GPA at the school I graduated from did not account for my first year, nor any summer classes I took at different universities, leading to a lower 'final GPA.'

Minimum GPA Requirement for Employment

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get thoughts on how much GPA can hurt job prospects. I've got a second round interview coming up in a few weeks, and am missing the minimum GPA requirement. However, my major GPA well surpasses it. The interviewers (directors and VPs) seem to take well to me, but I don't know if HR will bring the hammer down. Does anyone have any thoughts/advice to minimize the impact of this? The requirement doesn't specify that the GPA required is overall or within my major, but I don't want to rely on a technicality to get through.

Thanks!
