Does anybody have any insight into the hiring specifics of JPM's Private Wealth Management for 2010 MBA grads? Specifics on expected salary, signing bonus, expected bonus, life on the job, daily duties, quality of life (work ours, etc.) would be great.

Thanks in advance...

JP Morgan email format for Calgary office

fisticuffs's picture
by fisticuffs User's RSS Feed (Senior Chimp, 26 Banana Points Points) on 7/7/10 at 11:48am

Would anyone know the email format for JP Morgan's Calgary office.

I have tried both first.middle_initial.last@jpmorgan.com and first.last@jpmorgan.com but they both bounced back.

Or if anyone that works there could PM me, I am interested in finding the contact for one person.

Thanks in advance.

No JP Morgan Internships?

accountspayable's picture

I've been on this forum for a while now and I have a lot of friends that took the banking path. However of all the companies I hear about people working for, the least mentioned is at JP Morgan Chase. Is it because they mainly hire MBAs? Or do people just not talk about them?

Underwitting for pennies

barboon's picture
by barboon User's RSS Feed (Orangutan, 262 Banana Points Points) on 6/13/10 at 1:05am

Can someone please explain to me why J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley are low ballin the underwitting of GM's IPO?
Why are they doing it at a quarter of the price they should really be doing it for?
I have a feeling that cutting down fees to half or a quarter of the price will become a new trend and in the end the whole industry will be screwed.

Bidding wars in IBD... Is it me or investment banking is completely losing it's luster?

Which one is better in terms of rep on wall street. I know Gary Cohn (COO of Goldman) and a few JP morgan, Goldman & Barcap IB guys went to AU. But I don't know about GWU.

So whats the consensus ? Which is better for IB (I know they are both non- targets)

JP Morgan Fined £33.3 Million for Co-Mingling

JP Morgan Chase received the largest fine in FSA history today when it was determined that the bank failed to segregate client funds from the bank's proprietary assets. Ironically, the announcement of the £33.3 million fine ($48.6 million USD) was the first time most (if not all) the effected clients heard that their funds had been co-mingled with those of the bank. To JP Morgan's credit, the bank discovered the error themselves during an in-house audit and reported the error to the FSA.

Quote:

The failings at JP Morgan took place over a seven year period between 2002 and 2009 and were only discovered last July. JP Morgan reported the problems to the FSA and today's fine is equivalent to 1pc of the average amount of money that was held improperly in the unsegregated account.

Proving yet again that no good deed goes unpunished.

JP Morgan Tech,
Does anyone have info about this group based out of San Francisco?

Also, any info on any of these tech groups out of San Francisco would be appreciated to: CS (Post Boutros), DB, BarCap, GS, UBS.

I am specifically interested in culture, dealflow, prestige, rankings, and exit opps.

Thanks!

Ridiculous bonus story

jjc1122's picture
by jjc1122 User's RSS Feed (Senior Gorilla, 918 Banana Points Points) on 5/11/10 at 12:42am

A friend of mine trades exotic derivatives at JP Morgan. Really bright guy, just 25 years old. He claimed that he made roughly $500K this past year after bonus and that the best guy in his group, who is just an associate, banked about $1.5 million. I had a really hard time believing this but didn't want to argue with him since I can't prove otherwise.

Any chance that this is possible?

What is the best route for re-entry into the world of finance?

wallstreetbound's picture
by wallstreetbound User's RSS Feed (Chimp, 10 Banana Points Points) on 4/17/10 at 6:29pm

I have a Political Science degree and Masters in Education Policy from top public and private schools, respectively. I worked for Schwab 10 years ago as a rotational associate for one year, managed a franchise and was the top salesperson nationally, and owned my own business for a couple years. I have decided to return to finance and I am unsure if I should apply for an associate or analyst position. I do not have an educational background in finance and I would be uncomfortable answering technical finance questions. I feel I can learn fast and have succeeded in almost everything I have attempted. Can anyone tell me the best route for re-entry into the world of finance? I would like to pursue opportunities that would provide training.

Anyone know what the JP Morgan Focus Group in London is all about and if anyone has heard back? It was organized by Asia recruitment so I was more than a bit confused as to who is the programme targeting. Thanks!
