Specifically Boutiques, Middle Market Firms, Regionals...

I know we have the Company Database here which is good but I'm looking for something more simple and faster to navigate.

In somewhat relation to this...How common does Off-Cycle hiring occur? Obviously it's rare but is it possible at a BB for instance?

SB's to anyone helpful. Thanks!

Forbes is doing this interesting feature called "30 under 30," which is a list of 30 people under the age of 30, spanning across 12 different areas, who are considered to be at the top of their respective fields and will likely be tomorrow's leaders. A few of them are familiar names, the most obvious being mark zuckerberg. But the vast majority are those who will probably gain more recognition in the coming years.

Here's the list for finance.

I am trying to gauge interest in a VC firm list of about 500+ names (could go up to 1K names). I am talking address, phone, email, website, names, type of fund, size, area of focus, etc.

This would not be free.

Interest in this?

Top Hedge Fund List

Is there a top 20 hedge funds to work at? I've seen this on other boards and it has been incredibly useful to me. Also, hedge funds are a little weird in that they are rather small companies vs. total capital. So this should give a weighting to the size of the firm and ease of getting hired alongside total capital under management.

I know, I'm useless. But any pointers for this neophyte would be appreciated.

Somebody mentioned that the BBs were not the best for Equity Research, so I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a best of list for ER. I know, I know, my google fu is weak. I found the list based on the WSJ, but that didn't seem very informative - more like it said who were the best individual pickers at buy/sell advice, which isn't what I'm after.

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers

List of common perceptions on WSO

Was wondering if we could establish a list of common perceptions (true or not) tossed around on WSO. One day I'll take a look and either laugh or kick myself for not listening.

examples:

- Must do PE pre-MBA or it'll be hard to find a PE gig post-MBA.
- Capital markets pigeonholes you and you have few exit opps.
- Sales in S&T is mostly for attractive women
- 3.5 GPA is a common cutoff for undergrad interviews
- GS TMT is the holy grail

I would avoid issues of prestige or rankings.

Hello all,

I am new to this part of the forum and as an undergrad, am really exploring all of the options that may be available to me.

I just went through a list of small banks for IB and some other positions but, find it hard to find a list of consulting companies willing to take interns. My school is not very active in informing us about consulting and not too many consulting companies stop by.

Would anyone be able to provide me direction in finding such a list so that I may reach out for opportunities?

Thanks

Hey guys, new here. I was wondering if anyone had a list of hedge funds that hire interns, or since that's probably impossible to get, just a list of hedge funds in the NY and CT region? I'm a student and don't have access to Capital IQ, so I'd greatly appreciate any help I could get. I'm trying to land an internship at a hedge fund this summer. Thanks for all the help.

Secondly, if anyone has any information of shops currently for internships in new york I would appreciate it very much.
