Hey guys, I graduated a few years ago and found this site after wanting to change and pursue something in finance. Thanks for providing all this helpful information and insight - really appreciate it.

Please let me know if I can send you my resume for you to review. To clarify, my last job was at a small/unique company so it's hard to keep everything anonymous so it's easier to PM if anyone can help.

Thank yall in advance.

Hello all,

I've just finished condensing an existing two-page resume into one page. I'd appreciate any comments on it!

Some of my concerns are:

1. First impressions - I've heard that snap judgments are important when people are reviewing hundreds of resumes daily.
2. Foreign schools - I'm unsure how my foreign school education will be perceived.
3. Varied experience - Instead of having 3 bullet points of 3 strong job experiences, I've opted to put a variety of jobs. Considering I haven't done any internships in consulting itself, I'm unsure which are more relevant towards consulting.

Thanks in advance!

How to highlight a S&T stint in a strategy rotational program

I am one year out of undergrad and want to break into S&T, preferably at a BB.

Currently, i am on the last leg of an analyst rotational program that could be categorized as "corporate strategy". I talked to my second half rotational group and got a spot on their retail trading desk. I also got my Series 7 and 66 so I have actually been placing trades although I do not have a Bloomberg earmarked to my name. Now as the program ends, I will be placed back into the strategy pipeline again.

So I need advice on how to position my resume in order to capture the eye of trading desks? I did non-financial analytics for the first portion and have been on the trading desk for the last 8 months. Background is Ivy League with a previous SA at BB S&T.

Hey, I am looking for some help refining my resume. I think it could use some touching up before I go on a massive employment search.

Here is a summary of me:
- Fresh MBA grad looking for full time employment.
- Engineering background.
- Completed an 8-month work term at a Big 5 Canadian Bank.
- Missed interview season to do an exchange term in Europe. I don’t regret it because I met amazing people over there and had a great time. I keep in touch with people I met over there from all over the world to share our views and ideas on respective local markets.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Social media is making it easier to find the right jobs, and for you to connect to the right people that can help you get those jobs. Many job seekers are still using traditional job search methods that are yielding poor results.

More and more companies are recruiting using social media, and 40% of young professionals are using social media to get jobs, reports Elance. You can have a successful job search by following these five new ways to get a job using social media.

1. Leverage Your Social Graph

Study Abroad Resume? Need some help.

Hey WSO,

I am beginning to apply to some of the BB summer internship programs in NYC and I would like your take at my resume and whether it will make the cut or at least attract a few glances. My issue with applying to these internships is that I am studying abroad next semester and would like your opinions on what I should do with my resume.

1. What should I place for my address? Because I no longer live in NY I no longer have that address. Should I place my Chinese address, my old NY address or my hometown address?

2. Should I include my study abroad education on my resume despite not having completed it? The format also looks a little funky and I ask because if they do interview me I will have completed part/all of the program.

Hello all the Monkeys on Wall Street Oasis.

I would appreciate it if anyone had any resume advice. You can see my resume here: http://www.razume.com/documents/19012

For some reason, razume converted it into two pages. As a word document, my resume is one page.

I am primarily interested in investment management, trading, or research. I am paranoid that my decision to take one year off to study Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan is hurting my job search prospects. What are your thoughts on my chances at a BB investment bank, boutique investment management firm, hedge fund, or prop firm? I am open to harsh and honest criticism.

Here is the TLDR of my resume:
