You have nothing to lose but your ignorance

After having been the sole voice for the liberal agenda on several political threads, I thought I'd try to start a post where financial types who wax democratic can advocate for a pragmatic economic platform.

We are not pure socialists or entirely adverse to capitalism; rather, we acknowledge that markets are imperfect and that there are enough resources in the world for people to have basic needs (health care, education, etc) met. We understand that free competition rewards success and drives innovation, but we also feel that the 'losers' deserve a modest safety net. We believe that reasonable taxation is an investment in society that ultimately benefits us all by promoting peace and socio-economic mobility.

Whether or not you agree with all the aforementioned points, speak up if you're somewhat pro-Obama and/or anti-McCain
